Telford Homes sponsor new and exciting community initiative in Hackney

Telford Homes is the proud sponsor of Wick Wednesday, a brand new community initiative by social enterprise, Creative Wick. Wick Wednesday will help support local businesses and protect the character and charm of Hackney Wick & Fish Island, an area undergoing significant regeneration.

Launching on Wednesday 20th December, Wick Wednesday will kick off with an array of special offers, exhibitions, events, performances and classes for people across the capital, inviting them to experience the lifestyle of this highly concentrated creative community. A live gig at a secret location, yoga workshops, bouldering and art demonstrations are just a handful of some of the exciting activities for visitors to enjoy.

Tomorrow’s launch will be celebrated at Howling Hops, E9, a brewery and tank bar born and bred in Hackney. Doors open at 6pm and free limited edition bottles of their homemade craft beer will be available for guests. Visitors will also have the opportunity to hear from William Chamberlain, Founder of Wick Wednesday, to find out more about the new initiative and what it will deliver for the community of Hackney Wick & Fish Island. Wick Wednesdays will become a regular fixture for the local area, taking place on the third Wednesday of every month thereafter.

Hackney Wick & Fish Island is a canal side community of creativity and innovation. An unsung hero of London, this artistic district has been an industrious hub for centuries and was once a Victorian industrial suburb catering for a huge range of chemical industries.
