Telford Homes and Business Design Centre celebrate ‘topping out’ at City North

On Wednesday 7th August 2019, Telford Homes and joint venture partner Business Design Centre (BDC) celebrated the “Topping Out” of their landmark residential development City North, located in the culturally vibrant neighbourhood of Finsbury Park.

A “Topping Out” ceremony is a tradition held for good luck and is celebrated when a building reaches its full height. At the event, the last shovel of cement is poured as a tradition to symbolise the last part of the structure being complete, followed by the unveiling of a ceremonial plaque to mark this significant milestone.

The event, marking the completion of the building’s concrete frame and the progress of the building, was hosted by Jon Di Stefano, CEO at Telford Homes, John Fitzgerald, Managing Director at Telford Homes, Jack Morris, Chairman of the BDC, and Dominic Jones, Chief Executive of both the BDC Group and BDC. Telford Homes and Business Design Centre were joined by VIPs including the London Borough of Islington’s Mayoress Rakhia Ismail, as well as the contractors and staff of Telford Homes and Business Design Centre for the unveiling. Guests were shown to the roof terrace where they enjoyed refreshments and had the opportunity to take in the excellent skyline views over London.
