- Dressed using a collection of locally-sourced products, the unique design draws inspiration from the urban landscape of Hackney Wick
Telford Homes has launched a stylish new, 3-bedroom show apartment at its Stone Studios development, in the heart of Hackney Wick. Designed and dressed by local interior designer and long-time Hackney resident, Anita Rosato, the stunning apartment takes inspiration from the unique urban landscape and vibrant spirit of the local area.
Spread over 1,175 sq ft, the stylish apartment features an expansive, free-flowing living / dining area providing the space and flexibility to be adapted to meet varying lifestyle needs, a large master bedroom with en-suite plus two additional guest bedrooms, providing residents ample space to convert spare rooms into a home office or gym.
Having lived and worked in Hackney for over 25 years, designer Anita Rosato has taken inspiration from the area’s unique spirit to dress each aspect of the apartment – using a juxtaposition of industrial steel to reflect the area’s rich industrial feel alongside a riot of bright colours, patterns and plants inspired by the vibrant, creative and diverse community now taking residence across Hackney Wick.
The apartment’s living area has been designed to showcase the breadth of potential uses – with a cosy seating area, surrounded by beautiful plants providing the perfect place to relax, whilst a stylish dining area complete with industrial drinks trolley offers the ideal space to entertain friends and family. Unique, locally-sourced artworks adorn the walls, providing a tasteful, stylish feel. Leading off from the living area is a beautiful terrace, with a seating area plus beautiful greenery – providing residents with their own urban oasis in the heart of the city.
The master bedroom features a natural, organic colour palette; complimented by thoughtful and tailored design, whilst the guest bedroom offers understated luxury with informal styling and earthy tones. Both bedrooms feature beautiful natural finishes, including natural bed linens and drapes, in tune with local values. With an increasing number of us working from home now and in the future, the third bedroom has been transformed into a stylish yet functional office space; using timbers with moments of metal, as well as recycled, pre-loved items to create a warm and inspiring space where technology and creativity converge
Locally and sustainably sourced pieces have been used throughout the show apartment; allowing potential purchasers to be immersed in the art and culture of the Hackney Wick area. A selection of stylish Danish furniture has been sourced from Hackney-based vintage-furniture supplier, House of Twenty, whilst artwork dotted across the apartment comes from James Brown; a talented local artist who also supplies the likes of Liberty London and The V&A. A wide selection of products have been sourced from small local traders, including the beautiful South American throw in the living area and a vintage record player with vintage album set.
Anita Rosato comments; “I’ve lived and worked in the Hackney area for over 25 years; and I believe it is, without question, one of the coolest places on earth. People gravitate here from all walks of life and that has developed a truly diverse community which I love almost as much as the surroundings – from the expansive green space just nearby to the range of fantastic local businesses to browse and enjoy.
“As an established interior designer I have worked on multiple distinguished projects across the UK, Europe and beyond – but getting to work on one right on my doorstep felt incredibly special. Hackney Wick offers such a wealth of inspiration – both from its eclectic community and historical past – and I have tried to pull this through in all aspects of the show home. Designing the space has been tremendous fun; deconstructing the norms of your typical show home and celebrating the spirit of the area I love.”
In addition to a selection of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, the Stone Studios development also includes over 5,000sqm of high-quality commercial space, of which 3,000sqm has recently been acquired by Creative Land Trust to offer as affordable workspace to local artists and entrepreneurs.

For those looking for something smaller, Stone Studios also features a host of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, starting from £490,000 and available via the new Help to Buy scheme- meaning first time buyers can loan up to 40% of the purchase price.
