Collect unique pieces.

Buy accessories that are special to you, don’t be afraid to be bold – don’t be afraid to scour flea markets and antiques shops for those truly standout pieces. A key way to marry statement accessories with the rest of your décor scheme is to create link colours – decide on a palette and feature accents throughout accessories like vases and cushions.

 

The collection at City North is contemporary and bold, so a good place to start could be charcoal vases and sleek matt black accessories.

Be Daring with Paint and Wall Coverings.

 

It can be tempting to settle for neutral or magnolia walls, but this approach can lead to new homes feeling a little devoid of warmth and personality.

 

A vibrant colour on one wall offers a focal point and adds individuality to your room. Colour blocking with similar colours is a new trend that’s really getting a lot of attention.

 

If there is one room to try this in, make it the bedroom – statement wall coverings in a bedroom give a real feeling of luxury.

 

Bring in Nature.

 

City homes in particular are in need of a touch of nature to create your own sanctuary, bringing the outside in.

 

Flowers, ferns and dried pampas grasses all add sculptural interest and connect an interior with nature. Adding a seasonal natural display is also a great technique to keep your interiors feeling fresh and updated throughout the year as you can match the seasons. If you lack a green finger though, don’t worry: faux flowers are the new fresh.
